Citizens will have to face higher ticket prices for intercity bus routes, as oil has reached 260 ALL/ €2.11 euros per liter in Albania.
Bus drivers at the intercity terminal told Euronews Albania that the present situation has raised concerns and further complicated their line of work.
“60 liters of oil for a back-and-forth trip to Shkoder, will now cost 150 000 ALL / €121.5 euros,” – said one of the drivers of the Tirana-Shkoder bus route.
“We’re running a deficit; this has definitely not had a positive effect on us…” – said another driver for the Tirana-Durres line.
Meanwhile, intercity drivers announced that in the upcoming days they will make a unanimous decision on the extent at which ticket prices will rise to.
“In Ukraine, they’ve got war. In Albania, we’ve got rising prices,” – said another driver.
