In less than 8 months, in Tirana, the traffic police found 64 cases of citizens driving under the influence of drugs. The majority of those arrested had been consuming cannabis.
Tirana’s traffic police started applying rapid drug tests for drivers in April this year.
Through the certified smart device ‘aquilascan’, drivers are tested in less than 2 minutes, if they have consumed narcotics.
In less than 8 months, it turns out that 64 cases of drivers under the influence of drugs were found in our country.
In other words, almost 1 driver in 3 days is arrested in the capital city for using narcotics while driving.
Cannabis use was present in the majority of cases, followed by cocaine.
There were also cases of synthetic drugs, while the age group of drivers banned for drug use, overwhelmingly, ranges from 25 to 35 years old.
