€630 million accorded to healthcare in 2022 State Budget

Next year, the healthcare sector will be accorded the largest slice of the State Budget, namely 77 billion Albanian Lek or €630 million euros.

Minister of health, Ogerta Manastirliu declared that a portion of the funding will go towards covering the pay raises of medical personnel and buying vaccines against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the minister also noted that free eyesight examination for children 4-14 years old will be guaranteed through this budget.

“We will continue with the rise of salaries for healthcare professionals, doctors and nurses – a 6% raise. In addition, we’ll be financing the package of eyesight care for children 4-14 years old for the first time. This is a program of free universal healthcare (focused on eyesight) for over 300 thousand children,” – said Manastirliu.
