Oil prices in the stock market have dropped to the levels they were before the war in Ukraine.

However, its price in Albania remains currently 30 cents per liter more than it was a month ago, as per the price set by the board created by the government.

Vjoldi Danaj, an expert on the economy, told ‘Today’ on Euronews Albania that the price of oil in Albania is ‘considerably higher’ from what is actually being sold in the stock market, claiming that it should be at least 50 cents cheaper.

“Given that the price of oil is $98 per barrel, in Albania, the price shouldn’t exceed 165 Albanian Lek per liter”, he said.

According to him, there is no economic reasoning behind the price fluctuations in Albania.

“It seems as if the government is leaving the 50 cents to the companies, and this is something abusive”, he went on to say.
