On Friday, Muslim believers will celebrate Eid al-Adha, one of the most important holidays in Islam.

On this occasion, the Head of the Muslim Community of Albania, Bujar Spahiu, extended his heartfelt wishes to all Albanians.

In a message of peace, unity, and hope during these blessed days, he called on everyone to turn their attention to the poor and those in need.

“The Quran teaches us that neither the meat nor the blood reaches God—it is not the physical sacrifice that matters, but the devotion and pure intention of the heart. Let this holiday be an opportunity to deepen our connection with the Creator, strengthen our bonds with one another, and share with those who have less. Let us not forget the poor, our neighbors, and relatives, as the prophetic tradition teaches us, because it is through sharing and solidarity that we reflect the highest values of our faith. On behalf of myself and the Muslim Community of Albania, I sincerely wish you a blessed Eid al-Adha. May God bless our people and guide humanity toward peace and mercy,” said the head of the MCA.

This year, the Eid prayer will not take place in Skanderbeg Square but on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard.

The Muslim Community of Albania announced that the Eid prayer will begin at 06:15.

Eid al-Adha symbolizes sacrifice and submission to God, based on the story of the Prophet Abraham, who was willing to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s will.
