The Electoral Reform Commission postponed the deadline of its activities until March 10, 2023.

The decision was confirmed today at the Commission’s Meeting, almost 3 months after it was first approved by Parliament.

Work has remained at a standstill and only one meeting was called during the summer season.

The only discussions were about the experts who will assist the Commission with the reform but in the end, the opposition and the majority agreed on Viktor Guni and Indrit Sefa as technical experts, while Silva Caka, Arian Madhi, Eridjan Salian, Shkëlqim Çulo and Çila Ballhysa were appointed as experts tasked with representing the political parties.

With the extension of the deadline and the appointment of the abovementioned experts, the Special Electoral Reform Commission was given the opportunity to finalize the necessary changes to the Electoral Code for the local and general elections of 2025.
