Chair of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has reiterated his ideas on political vetting.
Through a post on Twitter, the head of Democrats said that the political system should be cleaned up and that the era of impunity should come to an end.
Basha also wrote that Albania is the poorest country in Europe because according to him, it is the most corrupt country in Europe.
“Albania is the poorest country in Europe because it is the most corrupt country in Europe. A thousand and one worries of people struggling for a better life, of entrepreneurs struggling to survive in a non-competitive economy, of the elderly oppressed by insufficient pensions, of the young people who dream daily of moving away from Albania, are a call to end impunity, to clean politics from all those who have abused the trust of citizens, enriching themselves and a small handful of people,” – wrote the head of democrats.
The politician vetting is an initiative undertaken by Democrats, who have already submitted their request and a draft bill to Parliament.
A few days ago, SP’s Secretary-General, Damian Gjiknuri declared that Albania has enough laws that control and keep political personalities in check.
According to Gjiknuri, the other request presented by Democrats in regards to the territorial and electoral reforms isn’t feasible.
