Serbian elections are approaching but when the day comes, ethnic-Serb minorities won’t be able to vote within the Kosovo border.
This news was confirmed today by the minister of justice in Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu.
“We consider it to be extremely important to have the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo respected, as well as the legislation that is in force,” – she said.
Haxhiu said that Serbia’s attempt to organize an election in Kosovo has nothing to do with Serbian living in Kosovo but rather with Serbia’s claims on Kosovo’s territory.
According to analyst Milaim Zeka, Serbia’s persistent determination to bring its ballot boxes to Kosovo is simply just another tactic of the Serbian president Alexandar Vucic to get more votes in Serbia while testing Kosovo.
Serbian citizens are heading to the polls on April 3, after which the country’s new government institutions will be established.
