Prime Minister Edi Rama held a campaign event on Tuesday afternoon in Roskovec as part of the 2025 election campaign. During his speech, Rama promised that by 2030, the minimum wage in Albania will rise to €650.

“Today, the minimum wage is €400. In January 2026, it will be €500. Our goal is that in the Albania of 2030, the minimum wage will be €650. The average public sector salary was €320 in 2013; today, it is €848, according to the latest data—2.6 times higher. Small businesses with revenues up to €100,000 pay zero tax. The state used to collect €66 million annually, but by reducing taxes and VAT to zero, that amount now remains with businesses. For businesses with revenues up to €140,000, another €58 million annually is no longer collected by the state but left in their hands,” Rama stated.

He went on to emphasize that EU accession is part of the broader effort to ensure legal equality in Albania.

“Joining the European Union will offer Albanians a definitive guarantee. Our efforts to establish equality before the law in this country will be irreversible,” the prime minister added.
