The Committee of the European Parliament for Civil Liberties, Justice, and Internal Affairs has approved this Thursday, January 12, the agreement on the liberalization of visas for Kosovo.

The approval was reached last December in an agreement between the Parliament, the Council, and the Presidency of the European Union, which at the time was led by the Czech Presidency.

“The approval of the agreement in this EP committee proves that the formalization of the decision of the European bloc on the liberalization of visas for Kosovo is going according to the plan and relevant procedures, which include various EU institutions. The EP has appointed the socialist MEP from the Netherlands, Thijs Reuten, as its rapporteur for the file related to the liberalization of visas for Kosovo. Reuten has stated several times that the European Parliament will work at maximum speed to finalize this process, which, as he said, has already stalled for too long,” reports REL.
