88% of Albanian families have an issue with raising their children while working.

This is what a study conducted by the Austrian Agency for Development and the United Nations Fund for the Albanian Population found out.

Women and family empowerment remains a challenge not only for Albania but other European Union countries as well.

Euronews Albania has joined a UNFPA project focusing on more choices and opportunities for family and gender policies in the private sector.

The cooperation agreement was signed on Euronews Albania’s premises by administrator Karolina Rista and UNFPA’s representative from the Tirana Office, Elsona Agolli.

Euronews Albania’s administrator Karolina Rista commended the importance of this project for the TV staff as well as the education of Albanian citizens at large.

“Euronews Albania is the first cross-border franchise in the history of Euronews. This was a success story that was clearly exemplified through the fact that Euronews Albania was used as a model for [Euronews] franchises that eventually opened up in other countries. We have employees who have made it their daily goal to work on sustainable development objectives. They do this because they are part of a team that has access to and works daily to help women and men choose the career of their dreams while helping their families,” – said Risto.

The Austrian ambassador to Tirana, Christian Steiner, said that this project will help companies create a friendly environment for women while also vouching for their empowerment.

“I am very happy to be able to participate in the signing ceremony between Euronews and UNFPA. This project is supported by the Austrian Agency for Development. The main idea behind this project is to help private companies create a friendly working environment for families while also empowering women in Albania as well as other countries,” – said Steiner.
