Hundreds of farmers in the city of Berat gathered in a demonstration today, which began at the intersection of Plug in Lushnje.

The reason for this massive gathering was the rise in the price of chemical fertilizer and pesticides.

Many farmers said that they’re currently on the brink of total bankruptcy. Despite their constant complaints, they haven’t been able to get an actual answer from the government which prompted them to unite and raise their concerns publicly.

These chemical fertilizers and pesticides are necessary for their activity and livelihood..
