First 100 days of Rama’s third term in power, PM calls cabinet meeting

PM Edi Rama convened his cabinet of ministers today to analyze the work conducted during the first 100 days of Rama’s third term in government.

The meeting takes place annually and is held behind closed doors. Each minister will be reporting to the prime minister regarding the work that is covered by his specific department.

The Rama administration won its third mandate after acquiring the majority of seats in parliament after the April 25 general elections.

The third-term cabinet of the Socialist-led government began work on September 18 after each minister was sworn in by the Albanian President. Rama III administration is made up of 15 ministries, of whom 4 state ministers.

The cabinet stood out since the beginning for having a predominantly female makeup, namely 12 women ministers and only 3 men.

The new government program has directed its focus on reconstruction following the 2019 earthquake, the management of the pandemic and general wellbeing; the modernization of the economy of production, the family and strengthening the legislative state.
