The first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in Albania. According to sources, a 32-year-old man was diagnosed with the infectious disease but has since made a full recovery.
Initially, the patient received the necessary medical treatment and was placed in isolation. His condition is now reported to be very good.
As for concerns about potential further infections, authorities confirm that no other cases or infections have been reported in the country so far.
Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, body aches, swollen lymph nodes, skin redness, and a rash that develops into blister-like lesions with scabs. These usually appear on the hands, face, and genital areas.
The disease is transmitted through direct contact with infected individuals, such as skin-to-skin contact or intimate relations. However, infection can also occur through contaminated objects, including bed sheets, towels, or clothing.
