The Balkan lynx was photographed for the first time in the Guri i Nikas protected area, in Pogradec.
Trap cameras installed by AdZM Korce, made it possible to document this rare species, which is known to be endangered.
This species is continuing to expand its habitat across Albanian territories, thanks to conservation methods that have been applied in these regions.
The Balkan lynx currently represents a limited distribution between Albania and North Macedonia.
