The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated that the fiscal amnesty bill includes a very long list of exemptions for groups of individuals who do not benefit.
In an interview for “Euronews Albania”, Ibrahimaj said that through this list, it will be ensured that the money obtained from criminal activities will not be amnestied.
Ibrahimaj said that anyone who wants to clear their earnings through the amnesty project bill must apply by completing a self-declaration form.
“I want to emphasize that the draft law, which is still under consultation, includes a very long list of exceptions for those who do not benefit from this amnesty. So, this includes public officials and their families, subjects that are part of the High Inspectorate of Declaration, subjects that have had criminal records in Albania, all subjects that are part of the OFL law, etc.
The list of exceptions is very large and through this list, we will make sure that no money that has benefited from criminal activities will be legalized through this amnesty. We want to amnesty and legalize the money earned from their work and this will be done through a self-declaration format, where each individual will self-declare. After the self-declaration application of each citizen, a special group of the tax administration, through an electronic system, will exchange data with a number of institutions provided for in the law, to see whether or not they are subject to amnesty”, she emphasized.
