Albania started today the international promotion as a unique tourist destination by participating in the giant tourism fair “FITUR 24”, organized by IFEMA Madrid, which is the global meeting point for tourism professionals worldwide. Albania is presented with its rich tourist diversity.

Prime Minister Edi Rama gave an interview after the opening of this fair where he stated that Albania is now at another level and should be presented by doing its best.

He considered all the meetings taking place in Madrid important and encouraging, mentioning that next year Albania will take on the role of the host country at the large Berlin Fair, which was unimaginable a few years ago. Therefore, being present at this fair is crucial, and it is important to give full institutional support to the efforts because it is an indication of the seriousness with which Albania faces the challenge of Tourism 2030.

Regarding the elite tourism mentioned, the Prime Minister stated that this year there will undoubtedly be a further increase in the number of tourists, confirmed by operators present at the fair who have already closed reservations for 2025. He emphasized the need for new investments to balance the increasing demand and the offer that must grow in proportion to it.

When asked about the recent meeting with King Felipe VI of Spain and the cooperation in the future, especially considering Spain’s interesting diplomatic stance regarding the free movement of citizens of Kosovo, the Prime Minister emphasized the excellent relations with Spain, with increased communication and joint work. He mentioned Spain’s growing interest in business in Albania, not only in tourism but also in other sectors of Spanish entrepreneurship exploring Albania and the entire region.
