The director of the National Emergency Unit, Skender Brataj, said in an interview for Euronews Albania that this year’s seasonal flu is very aggressive.
According to him, the flu virus has undergone its own mutations over the past 2-3 years
“For this reason, whoever catches the flu now says what’s going on?! But, we were expecting this and that’s why a call was made at the end of September-October to get vaccinated against the flu because it has undergone its own mutations and it will affect patients differently,” said Brataj.
The doctor also said that we are immune from COVID, but the problem lies with the new variants.
But how does this seasonal flu differ from COVID?
The flu, said doctor Brataj, has the immediate appearance of a high fever which is accompanied by either a runny nose and headache or muscle pain/body aches. In children, explained Brataj, it could also be accompanied by diarrhea or nausea/vomiting.
