The International Court of Justice also known as the UN World Court in The Hague sentenced the former heads of the Serbian Secret Services during the regime of Slobodan Milosevic, to a 12-year prison term.
The men in question are the two close collaborators of the former Serbian president, Jovica Stanišić, 70, former Chief of the State Secret Services and his Deputy Head, Franko Simatović, 71.
They were accused of leading paramilitary troops during the wars in former Yugoslavia in the 90s.
Initially, The Hague Tribunal released Stanishiic and Simatovic from allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity, back in 2013. However, the case was reopened in 2015, following protests and appeals by prosecutors.
