The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, received the former President of Croatia, Stipe Mesic, in his office this Thursday.
Berisha and Mesic discussed the attack on the chief democrat during the Dec 6th protest as well as the general political situation in our country.
Mesic stated that he is certain that the attack on Berisha was organized beforehand.
“I was very worried and asked my assistants every 15 minutes. I knew from the beginning that it was an organized attack. My long experience in Balkan politics tells me that this could not be a coincidence. They have done you an honor with this attack and they have harmed themselves in the process,” he added.
Mesic also told Berisha: “You are the father of democracy, not only Albania but of the entire region. You are needed by Albania, Albanians and Europe, because you are a Democrat”, said Mesic.
Meanwhile, Berisha explained the dynamics of the event, stressing that the attack was led by a police informant, on the orders of Minister Cuci and Prime Minister Edi Rama himself.
