The leader of the Self-Determination Movement, Albin Kuti, declared that the Kosovo-Serbia agreement that was signed yesterday in Washington helps Serbia to dominate in the region.

Kurti said that with the mini-Schengen, Serbia will benefit the access to the sea and investments without even recognizing Kosovo.

Besides criticizing the Kosovo side of the delegation, Kurti also accused US President, Donald Trump, of using this just for campaign.

“In the international arena Serbia is getting everything they aimed for, Kosovo nothing. In the economic field, Serbia still gains more, accepting the position of hegemony in the region, free passage and trade in Kosovo, access to the sea, etc.

“Ujmani, energy, mini-Schengen and Serbia’s roads throughout Kosovo were unthinkable until a few days ago. This sudden shows how unworthy they are. They went with the promise of recognition, but when Vuçiic said that there will be no talks if the recognition is not off the table, they did not dare to insist. They accepted everything he asked for. Of course, the election campaign in the US is continuing,” says Kurti.

The former prime minister further lists some topics that should have been included in the agreement, such as war compensation and the Albanians living in Serbia.

“The damage caused by the war crimes, the debt that Serbia owes us, were ignored and forgotten. The concessions of the Ahtisaari plan for the monasteries and churches had no need to become a bigger burden in Washington DC, as if Serbia has not taken enough. Albanians in Medvegja and Buajnoc are not protected and their problems were not addressed”, said he former Prime Minister of Kosovo.
