The former PM Sali Berisha accompanied by his wife, Iliri Berisha just cast their ballot in the voting station close to “Kosova” school.
During the process of biometric identification, there was a technical issue, where after several attempts, the procedure was finally accomplished.
Berisha tried several times to locate his finger in the device until finally the biometric identification was made possible. This procedure is being applied in the Albanian electoral process for the first time.
During his brief word outside the polling station, Berisha invited citizens to vote, while adding that the process until now has been orderly and spoke of a certain win for the opposition.
“Victory has the face and beauty of this blessed day. I’m taking the opportunity, to invite every citizen of this country to make a grandiose victory happen for Albania today and I call on all Albanians to vote for their sacrifices, to vote for their family, children, grand-children, to vote for the Albanian emigrants that the outgoing regime denied the right to vote, by inventing a quarantine, like a political doctor. They should vote for all of those that call freedom by its name, and call Albania by its name, may victory live! Until now, the voting process is walking safely towards victory, despite all the illegal and immoral efforts of the outgoing administration. Every second and every hour, our victory is becoming bigger and stronger,” said Berisha.
