The German government supports Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe, declared Knut Abraham, a member of the Bundestag from the Christian Democratic Union.
Abraham said to have asked the government about Kosovo’s chances of joining the Council of Europe, adding that the response he received was ‘encouraging’.

“Now, Germany needs to support in a proactive way Kosovo’s application to the Council of Europe”, he wrote on Twitter.
This Wednesday, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is heading to Berlin, where he will meet Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
