The doctor of Gert Shehu, the 31-year-old who attacked Sali Berisha during the opposition protest on December 6, has confirmed to Euronews Albania that he is in fact ill.
While the head of the Democratic Party has maintained that the report is not fake and that the attack was orchestrated by PM Edi Rama, the doctor Sadik Lala claimed that Gerti was being treated by him and had not gone for an appointment for about 2-3 months.
The doctor, whose name was previously revealed to Euronews Albania by the 31-year-old’s mother, said that Gert Shehu constantly displayed aggressive behavior.
Full statement:
“Yes, the medical report is authentic, it was issued by me. Gert Shehu was treated by me. He was not regularly taking his medication and behaved aggressively. He has not come to see me for almost 2-3 months.”
