Fatbardh Kadilli, one of the four candidates running the Democratic Party’s leadership, called on all Democrats to participate in the elections that will determine who will be the party’s leader for the next 4 years.
Shortly after having voted, Kadilli told media that although he is aware that the race is “unfair”, he was glad to have been the first to ignite the flame that led to the electoral race, hinting at the fact that he was the first to announce the candidacy the party’s top post.
“I am glad to have ignited the first flame. This is the first contribution, to be followed by the manifest for the resurrection of the DP and make it an open and victorious party”, said Kadilli.
“It is the first time that a political force does so much in such a short time”, he added.
Earlier on, incumbent leader Lulzim Basha cast his vote, accompanied by former MP Jorida Tabaku.
Polls opened today at 8 AM, while voting will continue until 7 PM. There are over 75,000 DP members entitled to vote for the party’s new leader with a 4-year mandate.
