Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced on Monday that the government is looking on presenting a new law that will aim to protect victims of domestic violence.
The main theme during today’s government meeting was on offering special supportive services as well the role of shelters in protecting and helping out the victims.
PM Kurti hailed the work of shelters considering them as “partners” in the fight against domestic violence.
“We discussed the initiatives undertaken by the government on a new legal structure, compiling a new law to protect victims of domestic violence as well as the Strategy for Protection from Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women 2022-2026”, a government statement read.
