Kosovo’s former PM, Ramush Haradinaj described Albin Kurti as the main perpetrator behind the country’s current energy crisis. According to Haradinaj, LVV (Self-determination movement) has criticized every single energy project in Kosovo, bringing to mind the thermal powerplants ‘Kosovo C’ and ‘New Kosovo’.

“They demonized Kosovo C, since 2008, when work on its construction should have begun, bringing in a total of 2.200 megawatts of energy to Kosovo by now. They demonized it and made it clear that they didn’t support New Kosovo – a project, which would have secured Kosovo another 500 megawatts by next year,” – said Haradinaj.

The head of AAK added that just like LVV, the majority of local political parties had come out against the privatization of energy distribution.

Moreover, Haradinaj emphasized that “Kosovo is the only country in the world that has the necessary energy resources but is still experiencing an energy crisis,” while adding that Kurti’s approach resembles that of a ‘meek global protagonist, with a tendency to stand against corporations and globalization’.

“Corporations were the ones who would have transformed Kosovo into an energetic powerhouse but unfortunately, they weren’t in line with Kurti’s ideology,” – concluded Kosovo’s former prime minister.
