The price of bread in Tirana remains unchanged, according to an observation made by Euronews Albania. The citizens questioned stated that the prices they pay for the bread they consume have remained the same. This finding of the citizens rejects the news about an increase in the price of bread, calling the news untrue.

“No, the price of bread has not increased”, the citizens declared for Euronews Albania.

The Competition Authority has announced that it will start monitoring bakeries and other entities that may abuse the price of bread, promising to investigate possible price abuses.

Regarding energy costs, OSHE has clarified that it has not changed tariffs for bakeries, rejecting rumors about an increase in the price of energy affecting this sector. The energy billing scheme for these businesses has been in effect since April and was agreed in advance with representatives of the bakery industry.

Regarding the peak hour band, the Energy Regulatory Authority has defined this band since 2016. Currently, of all the furnaces in Albania, only 194 entities are obliged to respect this tariff in the peak hour.
