Analyst Baton Haxhiu said on Euronews Albania’s political commentary talk show ‘Shock’ that it is a pity that in 5 years, we haven’t been able to scrutinize our 800-1000 judges, so that the vetting process could actually be finalized.
According to Haxhiu, this delay has been a direct result of the fact that our justice system has ended up being much more corrupt than we thought it would be, back when this reform was just starting.
“This isn’t the fault of the international community. Their fault is that they started this process from the top, down. That is why our Constitutional Court is at its present state. Our mistake is that the Albanian society has perfected its corruptive system – year in, year out – which is what made it untouchable through the years” – said the analyst.
According to analyst Andi Bushati, the radical reform that was undertaken in Albania, unlike any other example in Western Europe, was so harsh because everyone knows, exactly how deeply corrupted our country is, which is why according to Bushati, any sort of delays in this reform are unjustified.
