Several areas in southeastern Albania have faced issues after two days of continuous snowfall.

As a result, the Dardha segment is experiencing 70 cm of snow, where despite road maintenance, drivers have to be equipped with chains and snow tires.

The snow in Voskopoja and Qafa e Qarrit varies from 5-15 cm, which means that cars can pass through the area without any major problems.

Issues with electricity continue in the entire territory, including the Municipality of Maliq, where heavy snowfall is combined with high winds. Power outages have also been witnessed in the municipalities of Gore, Mogice, Kolanec and Zoberi but teams of experts are working to bring the power back up as soon as possible.

Upper Devoll is also facing power cuts, particularly in the areas of Zicish, Miras, Poncare, Nikolice, Sinice and Poloske.

Meanwhile, the city of Pogradec has been experiencing electricity cuts for the past 48 hours, in two administrative divisions namely Dardhas and Trebinje and 6 villages in the division of Proptisht. OSSHE has reported that it is working on solving the issues asap.

In the village of Zall Torre, there have been reports of road slips and authorities are currently taking measures in order to open the road back up.

National axes are currently open and aren’t presenting any issues with the exception of several secondary rural roads, which require drivers to be equipped with chains and snow tires.

Authorities advise all drivers to show the utmost care and respect all rules and regulations on the road.
