Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a speech delivered this afternoon, described the Socialist Party’s victory in the recent elections as historic. He expressed his gratitude to all voters, with special emphasis on Albanians from the diaspora who registered as voters for the first time.
“We are facing an achievement that is historic not only for the scale of the Socialist Party’s success but also for the historic moment in which this victory came to life for Albania,” Rama declared.
He praised the contribution of the PS structures and its supporters both inside and outside the country.
“There are not enough words to thank the tens of thousands of women and men, girls and boys of our political family who, for four years with effort, patience, and discipline — and especially over the past nine months without pause — paved the way to this unforgettable victory, even beyond our borders where Albanians live,” he stated.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister highlighted the diaspora: “A very special thanks goes to the Albanians in Greece, Italy, the U.S., and everywhere else where even a single Albanian registered to vote. It was a historic and fantastic first exercise in participation — among the highest in Europe for diaspora voting.”
