Recent data reported from the Fischer Index measured by the Bank of Albania indicate that in a year, housing prices rose by 9%, especially in Tirana where prices hit an estimated 12.3% higher.
As of 2013, condominium prices in Albania have gone up by 45%.
A majority are purchased by citizens who reside in the country, although 1 out of 3 properties is sold by expats.
Mainly, houses are sold in cash and not through bank loans.
Even though construction has been flourishing in recent years, the average time with the sale of a property in Albania persists.
By the end of last December, the average time it takes to sell a house in the country is 11 months.
