The Socialist Party spent around €1.4 million for the election campaign ahead of the national polls held on April 25. This figure is three times higher than what the Democratic Party spent. The overall sum spent by the largest opposition party was €392,600.

31% of the total generated from public money, 2.8% were donated by the party’s supporters, 22% were gathered by the candidates and 44% by the party.

To secure the third term, the Socialists used 76% of their own funds to promote the party. Candidates collected 22%, which is the same as their expenditures.

The same situation was seen among the Democrats, where their candidates spent the amount that they had collected or only 4% of the total fund. 92% of the funds were acquired by the party, while the rest were from its supporters.

Unlike the Socialist Party, which concluded the campaign with a surplus of €37,000, while Democrats with €742 debt.
