An incident took place earlier today at Skanderbeg square, when a young man broke into the barriers and plunged through the square with his car.

For several years, vehicles aren’t allowed to drive inside Skanderbeg square and barriers are also laid out across its entire perimeter.

The vehicle had been damaged on the side and was driving at a high speed in and around the square, in an uncontrollable manner. In addition, people had gathered in the square, some of them chasing the vehicle in an attempt to stop it.

One citizen was able to neutralize the driver and reported that the vehicle was going at a high speed and was uncontrollably rushing towards pedestrians, which incited panic for everyone present.

The driver is being escorted to the central police station, where he will be processed further.
