Sources have confirmed for Euronews Albania that there will be more police dispatched in Tirana to make sure that no incidents take place during the National Assembly called by Sali Berisha at Air Albania Stadium,

Increased police presence will be seen near the Prime Minister’s Office, parliament, and DP’s headquarters.

According to the same source, there is no information on any potential violent scenarios.

Former prime minister Sali Berisha gathered 4,200 signatures, a figure sufficient to convene the National Assembly whose main objective will be to change the party’s statute and initiate a motion of no-confidence against current leader Lulzim Basha.

Sali Berisha also sent out an invitation to Lulzim Basha, and other Democrat MPs, to attend the assembly.

On the other hand, the DP announced on Friday that 5,259 delegates have signed to hold the assembly on 18 December.
