Inflation in the country has reached 2.1%. However, food and entertainment prices continue to rise above this level, marking a notable increase during the month of March.

Inflation for March dropped slightly to 2.1%, compared to 2.3% in March of last year. Despite the overall decline, food prices have continued to increase, reaching 3% from 2.8% in February. Food and essential goods remain the main factors driving inflationary pressure, directly affecting citizens’ purchasing power.

In addition to food, alcoholic beverages and entertainment prices have also experienced significant inflation, ranging between 4.4% and 7.5%.

On the other hand, transportation has seen a drop in inflation, down by -2.5%, which is reflected in the automotive market and mechanical services.

Despite the lower overall inflation rate, experts predict a moderate rise in the coming months due to low interest rates and the slight recovery of the euro against the lek, pushing inflation toward the Bank of Albania’s 3% target.

Additionally, the tariffs imposed by the U.S. on export goods are expected to impact market prices.
