Lulzim Basha declared that the National Assembly set to take place on December 18 is being done for the Albanian people, and not to serve the personal interests of anyone.
According to Basha, the assembly will reinstate the decision taken on July 17 on “undoing the electoral massacre” and “establish democracy”.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, the leader of the largest opposition party, said that derogatory remarks on his address claiming to a “Basha-Bardhi association” is “purely for mediatic sensationalism” and don’t do any good to the interests of the Democrats.
“We are not coming together on December 18 for Berisha’s problems or jokes, or those of Edi Rama. We are doing this for the problems of the Albanian people”, Basha said.
Basha said that the National Assembly of the Democratic Party aims to present a government that does not stem from cooperation with crime or oligarchs.
The head of the Democratic Party also highlighted the importance of the need for an economic shift as many families are suffering from rising prices, a decrease in purchasing power, and insecurity for the future.
Rift with SMI, Basha invites all parties against ‘regime’
During his interview with journalist Ardit Hoxha on Euronews Albania, DP’s leader Lulzim Basha extended an invitation to all political subjects and public actors who are against the current government.
“The DP not only has been open but has also sacrificed and will continue to do everything, as the largest opposition force, in order to unify all political and nonpolitical factors to combat the regime of Edi Rama”, said Basha.
According to him, PM Rama is in power after forging an “alliance with organized crime and oligarchs”, considering it a “minority oppressing the majority”.
