Italian Culture Week in Albania will open on the evening of June 1st with a concert by the “Magna Grecia” Orchestra, performed at the Catholic Church in Tirana.

The same concert will be repeated the following night, on June 2nd, at the Amphitheatre of Durrës, in a setting that blends history and art.

The week’s program, which includes music, fashion, design, cinema, cuisine, and various workshops, was presented on Monday. The Italian Ambassador to Albania, Marco Alberti, emphasized a broader collaboration with youth.

“It’s a program structured around three concepts: The future—using friendship and the past to strengthen cooperation, with broader participation of young people. The second word is cooperation. The week is not about promoting Italy, but about building collaborations with Albania, doing things together. The third concept is interaction,” said Marco Alberti, Ambassador of Italy to Albania.

Seventeen different activities will be held across Albanian cities throughout the week.

“As the Italian Cultural Institute, we organize a series of events throughout the year, but Italian Culture Week is a key moment because it brings together a wide range of activities and fields in just one week. In terms of visual arts, this year we’ve chosen an exhibition by Enzo Cucchi, a prominent and well-known representative of contemporary Italian art,” noted Alessandro Ruggera, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute.

Italian Culture Week will conclude on June 8th with an open-air festival featuring Italian food and music.
