It’s official: The government has decided to open an Albanian embassy in Kyiv

The Council of Ministers has officially decided to open the Albanian embassy in Kyiv.

The decision has been published on the official website of the Council of Ministers, where it states that a diplomatic mission of the Republic of Albania will soon open in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

“In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and Point 1, Article 21, of Law No. 23/2015, “On the Foreign Service of the Republic of Albania”, with the proposal of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers decided to open the Diplomatic Mission “Embassy” of the Republic of Albania in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv.

For the opening of this diplomatic mission, the expenses will be borne by the budget of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs for 2023. The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs is charged with the implementation of this decision as well.

The decision enters into force immediately and is published in the “Official Gazette”.

On January 12, Albania and Ukraine celebrated the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
