The Kosovo Police launched an ongoing police operation on Wednesday in the North and South Mitrovica regions, targeting the smuggling of weapons and ammunition.

The operation is being carried out by the Kosovo Police Unit for Organized Crime at several locations in northern Kosovo.

“We can confirm that early this morning, the Kosovo Police, in cooperation and coordination with the competent institutions, launched a police operation covering two regions of Kosovo: DRP Mitrovica South and DRP Mitrovica North. This operation is aimed at combating criminal activities related to the smuggling of weapons and ammunition,” the Kosovo Police stated.
