Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti declared on Wednesday evening that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has no intent to distance himself from Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic, or Russian President Vladimir Putin.

After a non-formal dinner hosted by EU Special Envoy Miroslav Lajcak in Berlin, Kosovo’s prime minister reiterated that the upcoming talks in line with the Dialogue process will be among state negotiators.

Speaking to a local media in Kosovo, the head of the executive stressed that Vucic’s stance remains unchanged.

“The stance of the president of our northern neighboring country is the old one, while I insist on a binding agreement that would completely normalize ties between the two countries and centered around mutual recognition. I can say that there’s no progress in this perspective. So, there is no distancing from Milosevic, no distancing from Putin, and apart from the old stance, there is some strange behavior, I would say”, said Kurti.

According to Kurti, international actors are aware that it is Serbia that needs to change in order to find a solution.

Kurti’s statement comes after a meeting and joint press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
