The Prosecution of Tirana has set up a group of officers at the cybernetic sector of Tirana’s District Police in order to investigate the massive data breach that involved the publication of sensitive financial information of 637 thousand Albanian citizens.
The Investigative team will examine the servers of Tirana’s Tax Directory and the Institute of Income Tax and Personal Contributions.
So far, early signs point to the data having been leaked by two main institutions.
The investigation is expected to take place today and it will include the verification of central servers, to see if the data was copied and exported into an external hard disk or USB.
