Socialist Party has officially launched its electoral campaign for the April 25th parliamentary elections.
SP has chosen “Skanderbeg” square in Tirana, to present its promises openly in front of its supporters, despite the fact that according to anti-COVID measures large gatherings of citizens aren’t allowed.
Metallic fences were spread around “Skanderbeg” square in order to prevent supporters from becoming part of the political rally of SP, which symbolizes the takeoff of the electoral campaigns.
The State Commissioner for the Elections has demanded all political parties to show self-control and maturity because the choice is up to the citizens.
The leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, during his speech in the rally kicking off SP’s campaign, stated that he is asking for the third term, in order to continue with the reforms, he has already started.
“The third term for the SP isn’t a simple objective, the third term for SP isn’t simply for SP or for the ones representing the SP, not for its MPs, ministers, mayors; the third mandate for SP isn’t anyone’s chair, the third term is so that Albania never turns back. SP’s mandate makes all the reforms irrevocable; the opposite would mean losing all the efforts and sacrifices we have already made, and it would certainly make Albania return to where it should never return,” stated Rama.
Rama criticized the rally of the Democratic Party as according to him, they didn’t respect any of the measures against Covid-19.
“I believe that in this challenge we have the possibility to make a big difference, a great difference, which we are showing even today. Practically tonight, them and us have brought before the people, two different postcards. In front of a TV screen, all it takes is to see both postcards on either side in order to understand without the need to listen; the difference separating us is grand,” stated Rama.
