Hundreds of citizens are staying in line at the ticket offices of the Rinas airport.

Through images secured by Euronews Albania, citizens of different nationalities can be seen waiting in line for hours to an end.

A citizen says that 2 hours before the flight to London, the line of people was 600 m long.

However, citizens aren’t complying with all anti-COVID measures, at a time when the Delta variant has spread across Albania and the number of infections is on the rise.

They aren’t wearing any masks or protective gear and aren’t exercising social distancing.

After our country temporarily lifted the visa requirements for countries like: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Qatar, Oman, Russia, Thailand and India, starting from April thousands of citizens from these countries flocked to the “Mother Theresa” airport in Rinas, Albania.

These citizens use Albania as a transit country, from where they can head over to other countries of the EU.
