On the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Kosovo’s independence, French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani, reaffirming France’s support for Kosovo’s independence and European integration.
“In the face of global disruptions and fragmentation, the European perspective of Kosovo, as well as that of all Western Balkan countries, must be reaffirmed. I assure you of France’s support in helping your country on this path,” the message reads.
Macron expressed hope that both countries could continue their cooperation, particularly regarding the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games in Kosovo.
“France stands ready to assist you in ensuring the full success of this major event,” he stated.
The French president also thanked Osmani for attending the reopening ceremony of Notre-Dame Cathedral.
“France remains a committed ally of Kosovo and will continue to support its stability, development, and European perspective,” Macron wrote in his congratulatory message.
