For the 18th consecutive year, the Municipality of Maliq organized the fair of agricultural products, livestock, and traditional cuisine.
Farmers and producers from all the villages of the Maliq plain, as well as from the Gora and Moglica areas, took part in this fair.
These activities aim not only to preserve the tradition of traditional cooking, but above all to give well-known farmers of the plain the opportunity to present their products. A special place was taken by the women and girls of the region, who through traditional dishes showed their care and passion for keeping traditions alive, sparking great interest among visitors.
“The most important ones are the dishes passed down from us and our mothers. The sweets, cakes, candies, fried pancakes—all made by us and our mothers. Everything is produced locally. The lakror cooked under the sac is especially in demand,” said one local woman.
“These are part of our traditional cuisine. We have tried to bring different flavors to our table to show how beautiful the tradition of our area is. We grew up with such dishes—it’s part of our culture, especially known to us girls,” said another local woman.
The Maliq plain, one of the three largest plains in the country, is known for its agricultural crops, which were the foundation of this now traditional fair.
