The parents of 14-year-old Martin Cani, who was killed a few weeks ago near the Fan Noli school, have sent a letter to the American embassy where they expressed concern about the manipulation of the event that took their son’s life.

In the letter addressed to the US envoy in Albania, the minor’s parents state that the irresponsible behavior of some Albanian institutions and failure to take responsibility is like a second murder of their son.

We are Angel and Florina Cani, the parents of the 14-year-old boy Martin Cani, who has been missing from our family home for 3 weeks, after he was killed when we believed he was safe at school, an institution administered by the Albanian state.

For over two weeks we have been experiencing as a second murder of Martini, the irresponsibility of the behavior of some Albanian institutions, due to the fact that none of them are taking responsibility and resigning due to their incompetence that caused me to lose my son.

And the most unbelievable and unforgivable thing is that they are killing us as parents, as well as Henry, Martin’s brother, with the attempt to alienate and manipulate the event, deliberately not clarifying the event, only to save the guilty, who, unlike Martin, live on the ground.

I say this based on the information that the people around me have, the discussions and debates that are being held in television studios by chronicle journalists, prosecutors, lawyers and former police officers. Also, we fear the way it has happened in other tragedies, where the perpetrators have helped to escape punishment.

I have faith in you as the mother of a wonderful son and as the representative of a nation that holds justice sacred.

Please help me by seriously following the behavior and actions of the Albanian law enforcement institutions, so that they clarify the incident completely and bring to justice all those who are directly involved in this crime, as well as those who are in defense of the crime.

We know that Martin is not coming back to this life between us, but at least justice on those who killed and are killing my son again will give us the opportunity to be more calm and focus on Henri, Martin’s brother, who doesn’t know that Martin doesn’t see him anymore, doesn’t kiss him anymore and doesn’t sleep with him anymore, like until 3 weeks ago.
