Wages and personal IDs of thousands of citizens have been made public today in a massive data breach.
After complaints were filed by a group of citizens regarding the publication of their personal data, Tirana’s Prosecution began verifications.
The Prosecution will officially ask the Directory of Taxes and the Institute of Income Taxes to begin verifying this leak in classified information.
Euronews Albania has gotten ahold of the link that has been circulating on social media but can’t made it public out of respect for protecting human rights and personal privacy.
The link which is a word format was shared mainly through Whatsapp, and it provides names, last names, IDs, institutions where they are employed and their income.
The lists include public and private institutions, which also include wages of high officials.
This data leak comes only a few months after the massive list of ‘Patrons’, which showed that the Socialist Party kept detailed records of citizen’s names and voting preferences.
