The chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, said that the opposition parties as an alliance for change have proposed May 14 as the date when the next local elections could be held.
In a statement after the meeting that leaders of opposition parties held with President Bajram Begaj, Mediu said that this date reached a common consensus for several reasons.
“We thought that the 14th, which is the final date, is the best date, considering that the territorial and electoral reforms require time for their implementation,” said Mediu.
Today, President Begaj held a meeting with the leader of FP, Ilir Meta regarding the date of the elections, while tomorrow a meeting is planned with the leader of the DP group, Enkelejd Alibeaj.
