After casting his vote in Tirana, President Meta immediately headed to Elbasan. During a statement to the press, he said that the reason for staying in Elbasan is obvious, due to the serious violent event, which occurred a few days ago and has yet to be fully uncovered.
President Meta said that he had a phone call with EU ambassador Luigi Soreca, to whom he urged to focus especially on this city to avoid incidents like the one a few days ago.
The head of state is closely following the voting process in Elbasan city since it was one of the tensest districts during the election campaign.
Elbasan was the city where the most serious event of this election process took place, where a 56-year-old man was shot and murdered.
